BU earns top spot in 2012 MCAC women's soccer preseason poll

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Bellevue University has been selected as the top team in the 2012 MCAC women's soccer preseason poll released today.
The Bruins return 16 letterwinners and eight starters from last year's team that posted a 14-2-3 record (5-0-1 MCAC) in 2011, claiming a share of the MCAC regular season championship and a MCAC Tournament title while advancing to the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round. Bellevue enters the 2012 season ranked 20th nationally.
Oklahoma Wesleyan University ranks second in the preseason coaches' poll having earned a share of the MCAC regular season title in 2011 with a 13-7-3 overall record (5-0-1 MCAC). Central Baptist College, who went 7-10 (4-2 MCAC) last year, placed third in the 2012 league coaches' poll.
Rounding out the rankings are York College (4), College of Saint Mary (5), Southwestern Christian University (6), Central Christian College (7) and Waldorf College (8).
BU opens the season on Aug. 25-26 when it travels to Des Moines, Iowa for the Grand View Classic.
