Vega paces Bruins to Grand View Classic title
GRANGER, Iowa -- Sophomore Jose Vega tied for first place to lead the Bellevue University men's golf team to the team title Monday at the Grand View Classic played at the Jester Park Golf Course.
GRANGER, Iowa -- Sophomore Jose Vega tied for first place to lead the Bellevue University men's golf team to the team title Monday at the Grand View Classic played at the par-71 Jester Park Golf Course.
Vega finished the tournament with a 4-under total of 138 as the Bruins recorded a team total of 565, six shots ahead of second-place Ashford University.
The win marked the second-straight tournament victory for the Bruins.
Davis Garner placed fifth with a 2-under total of 140. John Matthews tied for 11th with a 1-over 143. Josh Larrison tied for 14th after shooting a two-round total of 2-over par 144.
Vega tied Ashford's Joar Bjelkholm for individual medalist honors.
