Bruins in 2nd after first round at SWCU Invite

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla -- Paced by a 1-under par score of 69 by junior John Matthews, the Bellevue University men's golf team is in second place after the first round of the 11-team Southwestern Christian University Invitational Monday at the Lake Hefner Golf Club.

The Bruins recorded a team total of 6-over par 286 and trail first-place Oklahoma Baptist, which shot a 2-under 278. Matthews is currently tied for fifth in the individual standings.
