DES MOINES, Iowa -- Led by freshman Shayla Scanlan's 13 kills on .407 hitting, the Bellevue University volleyball team swept Olivet Nazarene University, 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-10) Friday night at the Grand View University Invite.
Senior Beth Walker directed the Bruin attack, recording her team-leading 19th double-double, finishing with 27 assists, 13 digs, four blocks and five kills while helping BU to a .277 hitting clip.
Mikaylah Gillespie and Lauren Colpitts each added eight kills in the win. Rachel Barr added a team-leading nine blocks and sophomore Taylor Holz collected a match-high 15 digs.
Bellevue held the Tigers to a .045 hitting percentage, holding an 11-2 edge in total blocks.
The Bruins (18-12) will conclude action at the tournament on Saturday with a 9 a.m. match against Ashford University and a 2 p.m. match versus No. 10-ranked Evangel University.
