Fountain named to all-tournament team at NAIA Nationals
SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- Senior outside hitter Eve Fountain was named to the all-tournament team at the 2025 NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship after leading Bellevue University to a national quarterfinal appearance.
Bellevue, the No. 7 seed, reached the national quarterfinals for the fourth time in program history after winning Pool G with a 3-0 sweep over No. 18 Bushnell (Ore.) University and a five-set victory against No. 10 Oklahoma Wesleyan University before falling to Northwestern (Iowa) College in the quarterfinals. The Bruins defeated Bushnell 25-16, 25-14, 25-20, rallied past Oklahoma Wesleyan 18-25, 20-25, 25-15, 25-19, 15-12, and dropped a 25-27, 19-25, 18-25 decision to Northwestern.
Fountain led BU in the three matches with 45 kills (4.09 per set) on .254 hitting, adding 22 digs (2.00 per set), six total blocks, and two service aces. She reached double figures in kills in all three contests and finished with 52.0 points at the tournament.
In the sweep of Bushnell, Fountain recorded 11 kills, five digs, one service ace, and one solo block. She followed with a season-high 23 kills, nine digs, and five blocks in the five-set win over Oklahoma Wesleyan. Fountain closed her tournament with 11 kills, eight digs, and an ace against Northwestern.
Fountain concluded her BU career by breaking the school record with 1,917 kills. She also finished with 1,918 digs and 161 service aces, placing her sixth on both of those career lists. The all-tournament selection capped a senior season in which she earned AVCA all-North Region first-team honors, first-team all-Frontier Conference accolades, and was named the Frontier Conference Attacker of the Year.
The Bruins finished the year with a 29-5 overall record and a 20-2 mark in the Frontier Conference. It marked Bellevue's fourth appearance in the national quarterfinals and the program's 18th trip to the NAIA National Tournament.
Indiana Wesleyan won its third-straight NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship with a 3-1 victory over Northwestern in the title match.
