Fountain garners second Frontier Attack of the Week nod
HELENA, Mont. -- For the second time this season, senior outside hitter Eve Fountain has been named the Frontier Conference Attacker of the Week for her performances in helping lead the Bruins to three-straight conference home sweeps.
Fountain hit .381 for the week with 3.9 kills per set as Bellevue went 3-0 for the week, all by 3-0 sweeps over #24 Dakota State (S.D.), Rocky Mountain (Mont.), and (RV) Carroll (Mont.). She posted double-doubles in two of the three matches and averaged over 4.0 kills per set.
In the win over DSU, Fountain led the team with 14 kills on .440 hitting while adding a team high 15 digs. She also added three blocks. In the sweep over the Rocky Mountain, Fountain played in two sets, hitting .444 on the night with five kills, three digs, and a pair of blocks. She capped off the week with 12 kills and 14 digs in the victory over Carroll.
Fountain is currently fourth in the league with 3.26 kills per set and 15th with 3.29 digs per set.
She leads the team with five double-doubles on the season.
The No. 3-ranked Bruins (8-2, 5-1 FC) will host No. 21-ranked Montana Tech University at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, in the BU Fieldhouse.
