BU swept No. 21-ranlked Ottawa (Kan.) University 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-14) before falling to No. 10-ranked Montana Tech University 3-1 (26-28, 25-16, 22-25, 21-25). The split moves the Bruins to 17-7 on the season.
The 17th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday in the Big Dogs Classic being played at the Pat Sullivan Center on the University of St. Francis campus. BU defeated the University of Cumberlands (3-0) 25-17, 25-16, 25-12 in the opener before concluding the tournament with a 3-2 (16-25, 16-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-13) loss to Indiana Tech University in the nightcap.
After dropping the opening set, the 17th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team stormed back for a 3-1 (19-25, 25-20, 25-13, 25-19) victory at Our Lady of the Lake University in the opening match of the Alamo City Volleyesta being played at Mabee Gymnasium. It was the season opener for both squads.
