In an announcement made today by Bellevue University Athletic Director Ed Lehotak, sophomore setter Olivia Galas has been named the 2019-20 Bellevue University Athletics Female Athlete of the Year.

Bellevue University head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik announced today the hiring of Micah Rhodes as an assistant coach on the Bruin staff. Rhodes joins longtime assistant Steve Field as assistant coaches on Siedlik's staff.

The 2019 Bellevue University volleyball season ranked among the program's best overall seasons as BU continued its consistent tradition of success both on and off the court. It marked the 12th time in school history the Bruins qualified for the NAIA National Tournament after finishing second in the North Star Athletic Association regular-season standings. BU finished the year with a No. 19 final national ranking.

Bellevue University head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik announced today the signing of 5-11 rightside hitter Isidora (Izzy) Nayaho (Omaha, Neb./Westside HS) as the newest recruit in the Bruins' 2020 recruiting class. Nayaho will begin her academic and athletic careers at BU in the fall of 2020.

A trio of Bruins earned NAIA and AVCA All-American honors in an announcement made today by both organizations. Sophomore setter Olivia Galas (Bellevue, Neb.) was named to the first team while sophomore outside hitter Sierra Athen (Red Oak, Iowa) earned second-team honors and junior outside hitter Andrea Carson (Ord, Neb.) garnered honorable mention accolades.

The No. 23-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team was again dealt a heart-breaking loss as No. 5-ranked Southern Oregon came back from a 2-1 deficit and trailing in the fourth set to hand the Bruins 3-2 in second match in Pool E Play for both teams on Wednesday morning.
