Holdsworth signs with Bruin volleyball

Bellevue University head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik announced today the signing of Paige Holdsworth (Omaha, Neb./Millard North HS) who will join the Bruins beginning in the fall of 2019. 

Holdsworth, a 5-10 outside hitter, helped lead Millard North High School under head coach Lindsay Peterson to the state championship at the 2018 Nebraska State Tournament in Class A. She earned all-Metro Conference honors and was selected to the Class A all-state team while leading her team in serve receive percentage. Holdsworth was also a member the Mustangs' 2016 state championship squad and the runner-up team in 2017.

The daughter of Jeff and Cassie Holdsworth, Paige finished second on her 2018 Millard North squad in kills with 272, along with 348 digs.

She played club volleyball for Nebraska Elite under coach Steve Bymers. 

"Paige is one of the most talented and decorated players to come to Bellevue from the Metro area," said Siedlik. "Her experience playing at the highest level in the state of Nebraska on the state's best team in the largest class will be invaluable for our program. She is a natural leader who comes up clutch on the outside in the big moments. Wanting to stay close to home was key in snagging Paige."

Holdsworth plans to major in criminal justice at Bellevue University. 

The Bruins finished the 2018 season with a 23-12 overall record, advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the third-straight season and the 11th time in school history.
