BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The 17th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team used an efficient offense and dominant defense to cruise to a 3-0 (25-12, 25-9, 25-16) win over Dakota State University in the Bruins' final regular-season conference match of the season Tuesday night at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
Bellevue improved to 28-9 overall and finished 13-3 in the NSAA. DSU fell to 11-19 on the season and 5-9 in league play.
Bellevue hit .337 in the match and held a 55-32 advantage in digs. The Bruins held DSU to a .000 hitting percentage on the night.
Mikaylah Gillespie collected eight kills on .636 hitting and added a match-high five blocks. Michaela Gardner hit .429 with eight kills and a pair of digs.
Maddie Squiers narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with 38 assists, nine digs, along with a match-high four service aces.
Clarissa Blick led the Trojans with seven kills and nine digs.
The Bruins wrap up the regular season on Thursday, Nov. 3 when they travel to Point Lookout, Mo. to take on College of Ozarks at 5 p.m.
