ABERDEEN, S.D. -- Shayla Scanlan and Mikaylah Gillespie combined for 28 kills to lead the No. 20 Bellevue University volleyball team to a sweep over Presentation College, 3-0, on Saturday evening in North Star Athletic Association action.
Set scores were 25-17, 30-28, and 25-23 as the Bruins sweep the season series against the Saints after previously posting a 3-0 win back on Sept. 16.
The win was Bellevue's fourth in their last five matches as BU improves to 19-8 overall, 7-2 NSAA. PC, meanwhile, falls to just 3-21 overall and 0-10 in league play.
Maddie Squiers directed an efficient offensive effort by the Bruins with 46 assists and added five digs. Scanlan led the attack with 15 kills on .414 hitting while Gillespie hit .250 with 13 kills on the evening.
Taylor Holz and Michaela Gardner each recorded 14 digs in the victory.
BU out-hit the host Saints by a count of .207-.125.
Bellevue travels to Peru, Neb. on Tuesday, Oct. 18 for a 7 p.m. non-conference match against Peru State.
