BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Outside hitters Kali Schnacker and Rachel Muller combined for 24 kills to lead the 11th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-14, 27-25, 25-23) sweep over Bethel (Kan.) in the Bruins' opening match of the Bruin Labor Day Classic at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
Bellevue improved to 5-1 on the season while the Threshers fell to 1-1.
Schnacker led the Bruins with a season-high 13 kills on .281 hitting. Muller recorded her third double-double on the season with 11 kills and 14 digs.
Junior Katy Gregory led the Bruin defensive effort with 15 digs.
Freshman Jordan Broady recorded a double-double with 29 assists and a career-high 14 digs. She also added six kills on .556 hitting while adding two blocks. Broady directed the Bruin offense to a .174 attack percentage.
Junior Jaclyn Thorson's match-high four blocks helped Bellevue gain a 10-5 advantage in team blocks.
The Bruins will battle 23rd-ranked Doane College at 8:15 p.m. in Friday's final match.
