Steinmetz earns 4th All-American honor with 7th-place 5K finish
ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Grace Steinmetz completed an incredible freshman season with her fourth All-American honor today at the NAIA Outdoor Track Championship in Asheville, N.C.
In today's 5,000-meter run, she joined a large group early in the race who were vying for the 4th through 8th All-American spots. The group was eventually reduced to eight, and Steinmetz sprinted to the seventh spot in 17:27.52.
Stenmetz had previously earned All-American status in cross country, 5,000 meters indoors, and yesterday's outdoor 10,000-meter race.
"Grace has been amazing all season," said head coach Craig Christians. "She has been training and racing since school started in September, as well as the summer, and her consistency has been absolutely remarkable. I'm sure she is ready for a well-deserved rest, and then she'll jump right back into it."
The Bruins open their 2026 cross country season on September 4 when they travel to Sioux Falls for the Augie Twight meet.
