After poor weather prompted Doane University to postpone Friday and Saturday's events at the Jim Dutcher Invite, the Bruin distance track squad finally found some conditions conducive to fast running on Sunday afternoon in Crete. Partly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-50s allowed two Bruins to establish new school records while two others had big personal bests.
For the first time in program history, two Bruin women captured titles at the long-running Sioux City Relays held Friday. Hannah Perkins and Madison Nelson ran to victories in the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter events, respectively.
The Bruin distance track squad traveled to Vermillion, South Dakota, for Friday's Early Bird Invite hosted by the University of South Dakota. Highlights for the Bruins included three school-record-breaking performances.
The Bruin distance track team traveled to Kearney for Saturday's Central Nebraska Challenge hosted by UNK and Hastings College. Just three short weeks after concluding their indoor track season, the Bruins were back in action at Saturday's season-opening Wildcat Classic hosted by Wayne State.
