Huaraca signs with BU Women's Soccer
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head women's soccer coach Tom White announced the signee of Mayerli Huaraca (Quito, Ecuador) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at BU beginning next fall.
Huaraca is the daughter of Diego Huaraca and Carolina Tipantaxi and plays her club soccer for SD. Aucas Femenino under the guidance of DT. Adilson Nunez. At this time, Mayerli attends Amazonas High School.
During her senior season she has amassed 22 goals with 10 assists as well as captaining the team.
Huaraca has experience in CONMEBOL tournaments and has been a key figure helping her club team gain promotion to the women's super league.
Coach White on Huaraca:
"Mayerli will be an exciting addition to the squad who will make an immediate impact. As you can see, she's thriving in that attacking third area with the amount of goals and assists she can bring to the team. Moreover, her tenacity defensively was what drew us towards Mayerli and I think she will be a great fit for the program".
The Bruins closed out the season with a 12-3-2 overall mark, going 2-0-0 against CAC foes during the regular season, and reached the Continental Athletic Conference Championship match for the fifth-straight season.
