COLUMBIA, Mo. -- A pair of second half goals saw the Bellevue University women's soccer team fall to Columbia College 4-2 on Wednesday evening at R. Marvin Owens Field.
With the loss, Bellevue falls to 10-2-2 on the season while Columbia improves to 7-4-1 with the victory.
Bellevue struck first with Prescillia Casu notching her fifth goal of the season in the game's 12th minute off a feed from Katrina Avila.
Columbia equalized in the 24th minute courtesy of a strike from Georgia Pardalos and moved ahead with under five minutes to play in the half when Macie Vincent scored off a pass from Renata Mendez.
In the closing seconds of the first half, Mia Hurt found Adi Kasel who converted her team-leading ninth goal of the year.
Madeleine Shylanski put the host Cougars back in front in the opening minutes of the second half, scoring off a pass from Pardalos.
Bellevue played catch-up the rest of the way until Hannah Shylanski ended any thoughts of a comeback bid with her 89th minute tally off a pass from Delaynie Brown.
Natalie Allison finished with seven saves in goal for Columbia while Abril Cura totaled four stops for the Bruins.
The Bruins out-shot Columbia 15-9 on the evening and 11-8 on goal while corners were even at four apiece.
Bellevue returns to the pitch on Wednesday, Oct. 22 as they host Midland University in the regular season finale. Kick-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. from the Renner Dennis Outdoor Athletic Complex.
