Bruins announce three more for 2025 class
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University women's soccer coach Tom White has announced three signings of three student-athletes for the Bruins' 2025 recruiting class. Sam Mausbach (Benedictine College/Omaha, Neb.), Aileen Perez Cardenas (Hampton University/Brighton, Colo.), and Gudrun Arnadottir (University of Northwestern Ohio/Reykjavik, Iceland) have all signed letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at BU beginning in the fall.
All three transfers come to Bellevue with a wealth of collegiate experience.
Mausbach spent four seasons at Benedictine College where she helped lead the Ravens to an overall record of 51-21-9 (31-11-4 Heart), three trips to the Heart of America Athletic Conference semifinals, and three NAIA National Tournament appearances including advancing to the Round of 16 in 2023.
In her time at Benedictine, she appeared in 72 games, making 51 starts, totaling 13 goals and 10 assists with two of her goals serving as game-winners.
Assistant coach Amy Tilley on Sam Mausbach
"I am beyond excited to welcome Sam Mausbach to our program. I've had the pleasure of coaching Sam in club soccer and watching her grow into the player she is today. After four years at Benedictine College, where she developed her technical abilities and deepened her understanding of the game, Sam brings a wealth of experience to our team. Her explosive speed and finishing ability will be key as we look to strengthen our attack this season. I'm thrilled to have Sam back and can't wait to see what she'll accomplish as part of our program."
Perez played two seasons at Western Nebraska Community College before transferring to Hampton University for the 2024 season.
At WNCC, Perez played in 28 games with 24 starts totaling seven goals and seven assists, helping the Cougars to an 11-14-3 mark in her time on campus. Last year at Hampton, she registered a pair of assists across 13 games, including 12 starts for the Pirates.
Assistant coach Amy Tilley on Aileen Perez Cardenas
"I am thrilled to welcome Aileen Perez Cardenas to our program as a transfer from Western Nebraska Community College. Aileen is a strong, technical winger with a sharp understanding of the game. She brings exceptional leadership and an unparalleled work ethic to our team. Her determination and commitment to improvement are contagious, and we are excited to see how her presence will elevate our squad. We are confident that Aileen's contributions will be invaluable as we continue to push for success this season."
Arnadottir spent the past two seasons at the University of Northwestern Ohio, helping the Racers to a 28-10-7 (18-3-2 WHAC) in two seasons, winning the 2023 WHAC Tournament Championship, finishing runner-up in 2024 and twice qualifying to the NAIA National Tournament, advancing to the Second Round in both seasons.
In her time at UNOH, Arnadottir appeared in 27 games. She helped bolster a defensive unit that posted 23 shutouts and allowed just 35 goals in 45 games, 0.78 per game.
Assistant coach Amy Tilley on Gudrun Arnadottir
"We're excited to welcome Gudrun to our program. She is a strong, smart defender who brings experience, composure, and grit to our back line. We're confident she'll make an immediate impact and help anchor our defense this season."
The trio of Mausbach, Perez, and Arnadottir join earlier signees Lily Naylor (Sheffield, England), Jordan Zielinski (Omaha, Neb./Elkhorn North HS), Olivia Wahl (Papillion, Neb./Papillion-La Vista HS), Izzy Ashby (Omaha, Neb./Papillion-La Vista HS), Lizbeth Barrera (Aurora, Colo./Western Nebraska CC), Prescillia Casu (Ajaccio, Corsica, France/Narcelin Bethelot Insep Paris HS), Ylana Termeau (Paris, France), and Elisa Rousseau (Lyon, France) in the 2025 Bruin recruiting class.
This past season, Bellevue finished with a 9-5-3 record, earned the No. 2 seed in the Continental Athletic Conference Tournament, and reached the CAC title game for the fourth-straight season.
Bellevue opens the 2025 season on Saturday, Aug. 23 with a 5 p.m. kickoff at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. The Bruins play their home-opener on Wednesday, Sept. 3 when they welcome Concordia University for a 5:30 p.m. start.
