The Bruin women's soccer program has announced today the signing of Madison Stumpf for the 2014 season.
"We are excited to have Madison join our program," said head coach Andy Nicolarsen. "She is a tough, athletic defender with great tactical understanding. More importantly, she is also a person with outstanding character and is the type of player you want on your team. She should fit right into what we have planned for next season."
The Cheyenne, Wyo. native, is the daughter of Marie Gillen and Tad Stumpf and graduated from Cheyenne Central High School.
A two-sport athlete, Stumpf competed in both basketball and soccer. She was a team captain for the soccer team and anchored the defense earning first team all-state honors her junior and senior years and was listed as one of the top five Wyoming High School soccer players to watch entering her senior season.
She also helped lead Cheyenne Central to a state championship and a runner-up finish in 2012 and 2013 under head coach Scott Foster.
A standout student, Stumpf was an Honor Roll student all four years and a member of the National Honor Society. She plans on majoring in business administration at Bellevue.
