BU takes second at Frontier Conference Championship
PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Shreya Suresh finished fourth to cap off her freshman campaign and earned Frontier Conference Rookie of the Year honors to lead the Bellevue University women's golf team to a second place finish at the 2026 Frontier Conference Championship, held at the 6,475-yard, par-72 Papago Golf Club.
Rocky Mountain College took home the team title with a 324 (+36) third round to finish +120 (984), expanding on their day one lead to secure a 30-stroke victory. Bellevue shot 52-over (340) as a team on Wednesday to finish at +150 (1,014) with Montana Tech taking third at +162 (1,026).
Rocky's Grace Metcalf surged ahead with a 6-over 78 in the final round to turn a two-stroke deficit to become the individual champion.
Suresh entered the day in contention and shot a 12-over 84 to tie for fourth place at 29-over (245). She posted matching 42s on both the front and back nine, making par on half of the 18 holes.
Isabella Gomez and Patricija Jakovleva each recorded top 10 finishes, placing ninth and 10th, respectively. Gomez carded a team-best 9-over 81 on the day to shoot 34-over (250) for the tournament. Jakovleva produced a 14-over 86 final round and she entered the clubhouse 37-over (253). Each totaled seven pars with Gomez recording a birdie on the 195-yard, par 3 No. 8.
Nellie Forsen rounded out the Bruins lineup with a 17-over 89, making par on six holes, to maintain her standing in 17th place overall, finishing at 50-over (266).
Following the tournament, the Frontier Conference recognized all of the individual and team award winners. BU's awardees are noted below.
