Gomez lands Frontier Conference Golfer of the Week recognition
HELENA, Mont. -- The Frontier Conference has announced that Bellevue University freshman Isabella Gomez (Cajica, Cundinamarca, Colombia) has been named the Frontier Conference Women's Golfer of the Week following her standout performance at The Lark Invitational.
Gomez led the Bruins to their second team title of the season, finishing second overall in the individual standings. Playing at the 5,792-yard, par-71 Terradyne Country Club, she demonstrated consistency by carding a two-day total of 153 (+11). After opening with a 78, Gomez shaved three strokes off her score in the final round, firing a 4-over-par 75 to secure her runner-up finish.
Gomez recorded one of her most balanced tournaments of the year, totaling 23 pars over the 36-hole event. Her second-round 75 was highlighted by birdies on the 357-yard No. 5 and the 161-yard No. 12, alongside 10 pars.
She was the catalyst for a dominant Bruin showing, as Bellevue placed three golfers in the top five. The Bruins carded a team score of 639 (+71), defeating second-place Columbia College by seven strokes.
The Bruins are in Nashville, Tenn., as they are competing in the Music City Classic, their final regular-season tournament of the year.
