BU Finishes Sixth at OUAZ Fall Invite
SURPRISE, Ariz. — The Bellevue University women's golf team concluded its three-round effort at the OUAZ Fall Invitational on Tuesday, placing sixth in the eight-team field at Sterling Grove Golf Club. The Bruins shot rounds of 325, 307, and 318 for a 54-hole team total of 950 (+86).
UBC Okanagan claimed the team championship at 17-over-par (881), five shots ahead of second-place Embry-Riddle (AZ) at 886. OUAZ rounded out the top three with a total of 921 (+57), followed by Victoria (+62) and Arizona Christian (+66). Bellevue was next at +86 (950).
Isabella Gomez paced Bellevue in the final round with a 5-over 77, which included birdies on the par-5 fourth and par-5 18th holes. She also carded nine pars and finished 21st individually with rounds of 82-78-77 (237, +21).
Shreya Suresh turned in a consistent effort with a 7-over 79 in her final round. She recorded 13 pars and posted a three-day total of 234 (+18), tying for 17th place to lead the Bruins in the individual standings.
Patricija Jakovleva shot 78 (+6) on Tuesday, highlighted by one birdie and 12 pars. She placed 20th overall at 235 (+19) after rounds of 83-74-78.
Nellie Forsen finished with an 84 (+12), picking up birdies on the par-5 11th and par-4 16th holes. She also tallied nine pars and ended the event in 27th place with a total of 244 (+28).
UBC Okanagan's Julia Alexander Carew cruised to medalist honors with a 7-under-par 209, capped by a 2-under 70 in the final round. She was the only player in the 48-golfer field to finish under par. Emma Marshall of Embry-Riddle was runner-up at +2 (218), while teammate Bellamaria Mantini finished third at +4 (220).

Bellevue returns to action next Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 13–14, at The Statesmen Invitational hosted by William Penn University. The event will take place at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.
