Bruins Place Third at Beartooth Invitational
LAUREL, Mont. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team posted a third-place finish at the 2025 Beartooth Invitational, hosted by Rocky Mountain College at the Laurel Golf Club. Bellevue recorded team rounds of 331 and 328 for a two-day total of 659 (+83), finishing behind host and champion Rocky Mountain (617, +41) and runner-up Montana Tech (645, +69).
Shreya Suresh was Bellevue's top finisher, placing seventh overall with a 161 (+17) after rounds of 79 and 82. Suresh made eight pars in her final round and played the front nine in 42.
Patricija Jakovleva turned in Bellevue's low round of the tournament on Tuesday, firing a 78 (+6) that included four birdies—on holes 5, 6, 8, and 12—and played the back nine at 1-over-par 37. She finished tied for eighth at 162 (+18).
Nellie Forsen improved four strokes from her first round with an 82 (+10) on day two. She carded birdies on holes 11, 14, and 15 and shot even-par 36 on the back nine to tie for 15th at 167 (+23).
Isabella Gomez rounded out the team scoring with an 86 (+14) in the final round, giving her a 169 (+25) tournament total and placing her 18th. Her round included a birdie on the par-4 fifth hole and a pair of 43s on both nines.
Rocky Mountain swept the top three spots individually, led by Grace Metcalf, who shot 70 in Tuesday's final round to claim medalist honors with a 149 (+5). Teammate Kadence Fischer was runner-up at 151 (+7), followed by Tyla Potgieter in third at 155 (+11). Montana Tech's Emma Woods (158, +14) and Casha Corder (159, +15) rounded out the top five.
Up next, Bellevue will travel to Surprise, Ariz., to compete at the OUAZ Fall Invitational on Oct. 6-7. The 36-hole event will be held at Sterling Grove Golf Club.
