BU finishes third at Dickinson State Fall Invitational
DICKINSON, N.D. -- The Bellevue University women's golf improved on Monday's first round by four strokes to finish in third place in the six-team Dickinson State Fall Invitational being played at the 5,747-yard, par-72 Heart River Golf Course.
The Bruins shot a 25-over team score of 313 to finish at 54-over for the tournament.
Rocky Mountain College captured the team title by 10 strokes over second-place Montana Tech University. RMC matched its first-round total of 7-over par to finish 14 over for the tournament. MTU also posted an identical team score as its first round, with a 12-over 300 to finish at 24-over for the 36-hole tournament.
Shreya Suresh posted BU's top round on the day with a 3-over par 75. She finished the tournament at 10-over and in a tie for eighth place in the 39-player field. Her round was sparked by four birdies.
Isabella Gomez shot a 5-over par 77 and matched Suresh's 10-over 36-hole total, tying for eighth place. She had two birdies in Tuesday's second round.
Nellie Forsen fired a 10-over 82, finishing the tournament at 17-over par and in a tie for 16th place. She birdied the 18th hole to post a 3-over 39 on the back nine.
Patricija Jakovleva matched Forsen's 17-over par 36-hole total, posting a 7-over 79 in today's round. She collected four birdies on the opening nine, turning in a 2-under 34 after the first nine holes.
Rocky's Grace Metcalf won the individual title with consecutive 2-under rounds of 70 to finish the tournament at 4-under par.

The Bruins will travel to Laurel, Mont., on Sept. 29-30 to compete in the Beartooth Invitational being played at the Laurel Golf Course.
