Bruins climb three spots at NAIA Championship
YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Junior Aaricia Noel-Traissac fired a BU tournament-best even par third round to lead the Bruins' charge up the leaderboard at the 2025 NAIA Women's Golf National Championship, hosted at Eagle Crest Golf Course (par 72, 5,895 yards). After beginning the day in 15th place, the Bellevue University women's golf team improved their standing with their best round of the tournament and are now in 12th place overall.
Aaricia Noel-Traissac was the biggest upward mover of the day for the Bruins, climbing nine spots to 68th overall. Her even par 72 round was the best by a BU golfer at the National Tournament since 2022 and she remains at 28-over for the week. She birdied No. 18 (340-yard, par 4) and has played par golf over her last 27 holes in the tournament.
Maria Pinedo posted a 4-over 76 third round as she moved to 19th place overall at 10-over. Pinedo was 5-over through her first 11 holes but finished strong, making par or better on her final seven holes featuring a birdie on the 460-yard, par 5 No. 5.
Tilde-Li Andersson turned in a 5-over 77 round and is now tied for 38th overall at 16-over, up two spots on the day. She birdied her first hole of the day (495-yard, par 5 No. 10) as she shot 2-over on the back including another birdie on the 155-yard, par 3 No. 17. She finished on the front where she shot 3-over including a birdie on the 110-yard, par 3 No. 6.
Chloe Blandinieres shot a 9-over 81 on Thursday and is now 55th overall at 22-over. She shot 1-over on the back nine, where she began her day, including a birdie on the 340-yard, par 4 No. 18. However, an 8-over front nine saw her slide eight places to 55th on the leaderboard.
Ilysia Ibnu shot a 10-over 82 for second-straight day as she slid six spots to 71st overall at 29-over. Her round was highlighted by a birdie on the 385-yard, par 4 No. 12 that was part of a 3-over back nine.
Bellevue fired an 18-over (306) third round as a team and are now 66-over (930) for the tournament.
The Bruins vaulted University of the Cumberlands, Rocky Mountain College, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University on the day and are now just five shots away from Oklahoma City University for a spot in the top 10.
University of British Columbia remains the overall leader at 17-over following an 8-over round. The Thunderbirds widened their lead on Marian University to 15 strokes with Keiser University joining Marian in a tie for second.
British Columbia's Jessica Ng saw her individual lead whittled to just one stroke. After an even par third round, Ng remains at 6-under. Sharon Shan, of SCAD Savannah, turned in a third round-best 3-under scorecard and now stands at 5-under through 54 holes. Lindsey Wilson's Butpapaporn Sukterm is the lone other golfer under par at 1-under.
The National Championships conclude with fourth round play tomorrow beginning at 6:30 a.m. The Bruins tee off at 7:10 a.m. along with Oklahoma City and Milligan University.
