Jakovleva signs with Bellevue Women’s Golf for 2025-26

BELLEVUE, Neb. — Bellevue University head women's golf coach Craig Marsh announced the addition of Patrīcija Anna Jakovļeva to the Bruins' 2025-26 recruiting class. The Riga, Latvia native will begin her academic and athletic career at BU in the fall of 2025.

Jakovļeva, the daughter of Arturs Jakovļevs and Diāna Vilistere, is a graduate of Riga French Lyceum. She plans to major in Intelligence and Security Studies at Bellevue.

Her tournament résumé includes a third-place finish at the 2024 Faldo Series Latvia Championship, runner-up honors at the 2024 Lithuanian Junior Open, and a third-place showing at the 2023 Latvian Junior Open Championship. Jakovļeva also helped Team Latvia win the 2023 Baltic Champions Cup, marking the country's first victory in the event's history.

She was a member of the Latvian team that participated in the 2024 European Ladies Team Shield Championship and has earned multiple longest-drive awards throughout her playing career.

Jakovleva has an average score of 82 and a handicap of 7.4.

In addition to golf, she competed in competitive swimming from ages 9–12, earning 8 bronze, 12 silver, and 12 gold medals. She also trained in a variety of dance styles, including ballet, folk, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, and salsa.

Academically, she was active in her school's Debate Club and Student Parliament and graduated with a 3.3 GPA.

Her father, Arturs Jakovļevs, is a three-time Olympian in swimming (1992, 1996, 2000). He also won gold at the 1982 European Junior Championship, bronze at the 1992 World Cup, and was a 77-time Latvian/Latvian SSR national champion.

Jakovļeva joins previously announced 2025-26 signees Nellie Forsén (Linköping, Sweden), Cristina Garcia (Caracas, Venezuela), and Isabella Gómez (Cajicá, Colombia) as part of a strong international recruiting class.

The Bruins will compete in the Bent Tree Intercollegiate on April 21-22 at Bent Tree Golf Club in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
