Pinedo leads BU to fourth place finish at Kyle Blaser Invite
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Led by senior Maria Pinedo, the 23rd-ranked Bellevue University women's golf team finished in fourth place at the nine-team Kyle Blaser Invitational being played at the 6,053-yard, par-72 Gaillardia Country Club.
The Bruins finished the tournament at 148-over par with rounds of 345-333-334.
Sixth-ranked Texas Wesleyan captured the team title at 87-over par. Eighth-ranked Oklahoma City finished second at 99-over.
Pinedo tied for 13th place in the 57-player field, recording the top Bruin round of the tournament with a 7-over par 79. She finished the tournament at 30-over par. Pinedo's round was highlighted by two birdies and eight pars.
Ilysia Ibnu finished in 19th place after carding a 10-over 82 in Tuesday's third round to finish the tournament at 36-over par. She had one birdie and eight pars in the third round.
Aaricia Noel-Traissac registered the third-best BU round on the day with a 14-over 86, to finish the tournament at 50-over par and in a tie for 31st place. She had six pars on the day.
Chloe Blandinieres shot a 15-over 87, finishing the event at 38-over par and in 21st place. Her round was sparked by a birdie and three pars.
Tilde-Li Andersson finished the tournament in 30th place after recording an 18-over par 90, putting her at 48-over par for the tournament. She had six pars in the final round.
Competing as an individual, Megan Harty collected her best round of the tournament with a 17-over 89 to put her in 44th place at 66-over for the tournament. Harty had six pars on the day.
Daniela Espinoza of Redlands Community College, Logan Allen of Oklahoma City, and Raeleigh Davidson of Texas Wesleyan all tied for first place in the individual standings at 18-over par.
The Bruins will next compete at the Kaitlyn Erickson Doane Invite in Lincoln, Neb., on April 14-15.
