HASTINGS, Neb. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team occupies the top three spots and is currently in first place after the opening round of play at the seven-team Nebraska Intercollegiate being played at the 5,927-yard, par-72 Lochland Country Club.
BU shot a team score of 19-over par 307 and holds an 11-stroke lead over second-place Wayne State College (+30). Doane University and Nebraska-Kearney are tied for third place at 36-over par.
Chloe Blandinieres leads the 35-player field after shooting a 2-over par 74 in Friday's first round. Her round was highlighted by collecting three-straight birdies on holes 4, 5, and 6.
Ilysia Ibnu and Tilde-Li Andersson are tied for second at 4-over par. Ibnu recorded one birdie and 13 pars in the opening round, while Andersson had one birdie and 12 pars.
Maria Pinedo and Aaricia Noel-Traissac are tied for 10th place at 9-over par. Pinedo had one birdie and eight pars in the first round, and Noel-Traissac carded 10 pars.
Saturday's final round will begin with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
