Three Bruins in top 12 after first round at GV Invitational

ANKENY, Iowa -- Led by sophomore Maria Pinedo, all three Bruin golfers are in the top 12 after the opening round of play at the Grand View Invitational being played at the 6,141-yard, par-71 Otter Creek Golf Course.
Pinedo is currently tied for third place in the 33-player field after carding a six-over 77 in Monday's first round. Pinedo had two birdies in her opening round.
Megan Harty shot an 8-over 79 and is in a tie for eighth place. She had one birdie on the day.
Tylah Saifoloi registered a 10-over 81 and is in a tie for 11th place. Saifoloi's opening round was highlighted by a pair of birdies.
Grand View's Brooke Boardman leads the field at 3-over par.
Host Grand View leads the team race by 23 strokes over Iowa Lakes CC after shooting a team score of 28-over par (312).
Tuesday's final round will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
