Two NCAA Division I tournaments highlight Bruins' fall schedule
Women's golf team to play at Nebraska and Creighton during fall season ...
Bellevue University women's golf coach Shelly Liddick announced today the Bruins will be competing in two NCAA Division I tournaments as part of BU's five-event fall schedule.
Bellevue will open the season at the Chip-N-Club Invitational hosted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on Sept. 8-9. The 36-hole tournament will be played at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Club in Lincoln.
The Bruins will travel across town to Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha for the Creighton Classic on Oct. 20-21.
Bellevue will also play tournaments in Oklahoma City, Nebraska City and culminate the fall season in Savannah, Ga. at the NAIA National Championship Preview.
"I am very excited about our fall schedule this year," said Liddick. "We will be competing in two Division 1 tournaments and a very strong NAIA field in both the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic and the NAIA Preview. This is our most competitive schedule to date. As our women's golf team continues to strive for excellence, we wanted to create a strong schedule for us to rise to the occasion."
The Bruins returns all seven letterwinners including four All-Americans from last season's squad that finished third at the NAIA National Championships after winning their third-consecutive league title.
