Six Bruins finish in top 10 en route to AIB Invite crown

PANORA, Iowa --  Bellevue University had six golfers finish in the top 10 individually as the Bruins captured their eighth-straight team title, winning the AIB College of Business Spring Invitational Saturday at Lake Panorama Golf Course.

Bellevue, which won the title by 48 strokes, captured its ninth team title of the year.

The Bruins recorded a two-day total of 638, while Clarke University finished second with a total score of 686.

Natalia Soria and Renee Santoyo finished in a tie for first place with a total score of 156. Soria earned the individual title after a scorecard playoff.

Maria Saavedra notched a third place finish after scores of 79 and 81.

Charlene Dubois (84-82--166) and Karissa Moreland (88-83--171) also finished in the top 10. Dubois placed fourth while Moreland finished tied for sixth.

Playing as individuals, Izzy Hernandez carded rounds of 84 and 82, good for fourth, while Jayme Harmelink finished 19th overall after posting scores of 95 and 87.

The BU women's golf team will be idle until they host the MCAC-NSAA Tournament on April 28-29 at Quarry Oaks Golf Course in Ashland, Neb.
