Bellevue claims Ashford Invitational title

EAST MOLINE, Ill. -- Freshman Ana Laura Gomez continued her strong play, winning the individual title Tuesday at the Ashford Invitational, pacing the Bruins to the team championship with a two-day team total of 695. It marked the Bruins second team title of the year and the third individual championship for Gomez. 

Gomez shot a 6-over par 78 for a two-day total of 155, 10 shots better than her closest competitor at the Short Hills Country Club.

Christian VonRiesen finished seventh with a 179 (88-91) total. Dawn Florance and Jayme Harmelink tied for eighth as both collected 184 totals. 

The tournament marked the final competition of the fall season for the Bruins. BU will resume action in the spring.
