Beran earns second-team all-Frontier Conference honors
BUTTE, Mont. – Bellevue University junior Joy Beran (Lime Springs, Iowa) earned second-team all-Frontier Conference honors, the league announced Thursday evening. The award recipients were selected by the conference's 12 head coaches.
In her first season at Bellevue, Beran started all 27 games. She ranked second on the team in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 10.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 28.9 minutes per contest. She shot 43.3 percent from the field, 27.6 percent from 3-point range, and 81.0 percent at the free-throw line.
Beran finished the year with 286 points, 180 rebounds (73 offensive), 36 assists, 25 steals, and 12 blocks. She reached double figures in scoring in 14 games, pulled down at least 10 rebounds in five games, and recorded four double-doubles.
Her top performances included a season-high 19 points against No. 5 Dakota State on Nov. 15, and 16 points and a season-best 11 rebounds against Montana State-Northern on Nov. 21. Beran also tallied 17 points, six rebounds, and a season-high five assists against Valley City State on Jan. 31, and went 3-for-3 from beyond the arc as part of an 11-point, six-rebound outing at Montana Western on Jan. 16.
Beran placed her name in the Bellevue record books during the season. Her 81.0 percent free-throw mark ranks fifth on the program's single-season chart, while her 73 offensive rebounds and 180 total boards stand ninth and 10th, respectively.
The Bruins ended the 2025-26 season with a 10-17 overall record and a 6-16 mark in conference play. The 2025-26 Frontier Conference Women's Basketball Postseason Tournament will be played Feb. 27-March 2 at the Butte Civic Center, beginning with quarterfinal rounds on Friday and Saturday. The first three days of the postseason tournament will be live-streamed via the Frontier Conference's YouTube page, and the championship game on Monday evening will be broadcast live on SWX Local Sports.
