Malone, Mohr, Thompson named NAIA Scholar-Athletes
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its 2026 NAIA Scholar-Athletes for winter sports, recognizing student-athletes nationwide for their academic achievements. Bellevue University placed three student-athletes on the list: women's basketball player Mailey Malone (Omaha, Neb.), alongside men's basketball players Connor Mohr (Scottsbluff, Neb.) and Liam Thompson (Phoenix, Ariz.). Notably, Thompson became the men's basketball program's second three-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete honoree.
To qualify as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year.
