Cunningham, Fisher earn all-Region honors
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Bellevue University softball players Katie Cunningham (Bellevue, Neb.) and Kaitlyn Fisher (Omaha, Neb.) have been recognized on the 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NAIA all-Region III teams, as announced today by the NFCA.
Cunningham, a senior pitcher, was named to the all-Region III first team. She was previously named the NSAA Co-Player of the Year and earned first-team all-conference honors for the fourth consecutive season. Cunningham led the Bruins with 145.2 innings pitched and tied for the NSAA lead with 13 wins. She also ranked second in the conference in ERA (2.64), strikeouts (123), and saves (4). At the plate, she batted .381 with 39 RBIs, six home runs, and 12 doubles, posting a .574 slugging percentage and a .441 on-base percentage. She also tied the school record with 10 career saves.
Fisher, a freshman shortstop, was named to the all-Region III second team. The 2025 NSAA Freshman of the Year also earned first-team all-NSAA and NSAA Gold Glove honors. Fisher led the team with a .442 batting average, which ranked third in the conference and seventh in school history for a single season. She also led the Bruins in hits (73), doubles (21), slugging percentage (.679), total bases (112), and on-base percentage (.477), while adding four home runs, 28 RBIs, and seven stolen bases. Defensively, she recorded a .964 fielding percentage with 66 putouts, 97 assists, and seven double plays turned.
The Bruins ended the 2025 season with a 29-21 overall record, finishing third in the North Star Athletic Association regular-season standings.
