Gigax named Player of the Week, Mohler tabbed Pitcher of the Week
BELLEVUE, Neb. – The Bellevue University softball team saw two of its student-athletes honored as Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference weekly award winners. Senior Ashley Gigax (Omaha, Neb.) was named MCAC Player of the Week while fellow senior Taylor Mohler (Cedar Creek, Neb.) was recognized as MCAC Pitcher of the Week.
Gigax earned MCAC Player of the Week honors for the third time in her career (the other two coming last season) after posting a .455 batting average and 1.091 slugging percentage while helping the Bruins to post a 3-1 record last week. Gigax hit a pair of home runs, drove in four, and scored five runs while also hitting a double and drawing three walks at the William Penn Tournament.
Mohler earned MCAC Pitcher of the Week honors for the ninth time in her career after posting a 2.33 ERA last week while going 2-1 with wins over William Penn and Culver-Stockton.
