Bellevue University head cross country coach Craig Christians announced today the first signee for the class of 2024, Xavier Mallow (Papillion, Neb./Papillion-LaVista South HS). Mallow will begin his academic and athletic careers at BU in the fall of 2024.

Marcoux records Bruin best National Cross Country Meet finish

Richard Marcoux was just the third Bruin to advance to the national championship in the six-year history of the program. His finish today in 100th place of 328 finishers was over 100 places better than the previous best. He also established history two weeks earlier as the first Bruin to win the North Star Athletic Association men's individual title.

Led by the North Star Athletic Association's Runner of the Year and meet champion Richard Marcoux, the Bruins' men's cross country team raced to a third-place team finish at Friday's NSAA Championship hosted by Viterbo. Held on the grounds of Maple Grove Venues outside LaCrosse, the meet was held under overcast skies, light wind, and temperatures in the 40's, making for perfect autumn running weather.

Bruins battle at Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic

A perfect day for cross country greeted nearly 600 runners at the first Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic on Saturday morning at Mahoney State Park. Meet hosts Doane and College of St. Mary assembled a field of nationally ranked NAIA teams and brought them to Nebraska for the first time. The Bruin cross country team used the occasion for one final tune-up race prior to the NSAA championship in two weeks and came away with two personal bests.

For the third time this season and the sixth time in his BU career, senior Richard Marcoux has been named the North Star Athletic Association Cross Country Runner of the Week for his performance at last week's Charger Invite hosted by Briar Cliff University.

Bruin runners set personal bests at Briar Cliff Invite

Perfect weather conditions and a fast course contributed to personal best times at Saturday's Charger Invite hosted by Briar Cliff at the Adams Nature Preserve course. Every Bruin who competed set a lifetime best at their respective distances: eight kilometers (4.97 miles) for the men and six kilometers (3.73 miles) for the women. Sunny skies, a light breeze and temperatures near 50 created ideal running conditions over the hard-packed crushed limestone loop around the preserve.

The Bruin men's and women's cross country squads opened their 2023 season on Friday night in Sioux Falls with their inaugural entry into the Augustana Twilight Cross Country Meet. Thirty-seven teams from NCAA Division I to junior college ran under the lights at Yankton Trails Park. Conditions were warm even after sundown, with temperatures in the mid-80s and a warm south wind.
