2020 Season (Junior): Established a school-record time in the 8K with a time of 26:06.9 at the Briar Cliff Invitational (Oct. 3) ... Also ran under 28 minutes at the Morningside Invitational (Sept. 19) and the Herb Blakely Invitational (Sept. 12) with times of 27:22.5 and 27:46.0, respectively ... Earned all-conference honors in outdoor track in both the 1,500 and 10,000 meter events ... Several breakthrough performances highlighted a very strong effort by the Bruin men at Saturday’s Holiday Inn Express Cross Country Classic hosted by Dordt University. A quality field of runners traversed the three loops of the Dordt Prairie, highlighted by a dominating performance by the No. 13 ranked Dordt men. The Defenders placed all seven of their runners in the top ten for a low team total of 18 with just one Northwestern Iowa runner breaking up the perfect 1-2-3-4-5 score. The Bruins, despite running without their usual third man, placed a solid fifth place among the nine complete teams.
Senior Desyebelew Debesh has been named the North Star Athletic Association's Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for his performance last week in the Briar Cliff Invitational.
