Simpson, Lagares earn CSC Academic All-District honors
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced their 2025 men's soccer Academic All-District Teams Tuesday afternoon. Among those recognized were Bellevue University's Kaden Simpson (Omaha, Neb.) and Juan Lagares (Huelva, Spain).
Student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, and III, as well as the NAIA, were recognized for this honor.
Simpson, a sophomore goalkeeper majoring in Health and Human Performance Fitness and Coaching, holds a 3.52 cumulative GPA. He started 19 of BU's 20 games in goal this season, posting a 1.35 goals against average and totaling 77 saves for a .748 save percentage while posting eight shutouts. He posted at least six saves in six games, including a career-high 10 stops at #1 Oklahoma Wesleyan.
Lagares, a junior midfielder majoring in Sport Management, holds a 3.94 cumulative GPA. He scored two goals and added a pair of assists this season and last month he was named a first team all-CAC honoree. Among his goals was the game-winner in 3-2 road win at Dakota Wesleyan and he contributed a pair of assists at Florida National.
To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a sophomore both academically and athletically. They must have competed in 90% of the institution's games/contests/sets played or must start in at least 66% of the games/contests/sets. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Graduate students must have a minimum of 3.50 for both their graduate program GPA and their undergraduate GPA.
Eligible student-athletes will move onto the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with the announcement of those teams coming out on December 10th.

The Bruins finished out the 2025 campaign with a 10-8-2 overall mark and reached the Continental Athletic Conference Championship match for the eighth-straight season.
