Richardson collects CAC Defensive nod
Lawrenceville, Ga. -- For the second time this season Bellevue University freshman Stanley Richardson (Ipswich, England) has been recognized by the Continental Athletic Conference as the CAC's Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday morning.
Richardson delivered an assist on the second Bruin goal in Saturday's 2-0 win over (RV) Oklahoma City University while limiting the Stars to just a pair of shots on goal. For No. 6-ranked BU, it was their sixth shutout of the season as they improved to 7-2-1 on the year.
For the season, Richardson has been part of a back line that has posted six shutouts, allowed just seven goals, and is allowing just 3.8 shots on goal through the season's first 10 games. Offensively, has one goal and one assist.
The next travel to Florida for a pair of CAC games against Florida College (Thursday, noon) and at Florida National University (Saturday, 11:30 a.m.). Both games will be played at FNU's Ted Hendricks Stadium in Hialeah, Fla.
