Four named Omaha World-Herald Men’s All-Nebraska
Four players were named All-Nebraska and four more earned Honorable Mention
BELLEVUE, Neb. - Four Bellevue University men's soccer players have been named to the Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska Soccer Team while four others earned Honorable Mention status.
Seniors Manuel Lira (Guadalajara, Mexico) and Scott Robertson (Burnley, England) and juniors Tobias Maertzke (Hamburg, Germany) and Alan Carr (Lincolnshire, England) were each named to the All-Nebraska Team. Junior Jamie Henderson (Lincolnshire, England), sophomore Lee Woolmore (Norfolk, England), and freshmen Rob Smith (Lincoln, England) and Jacob Pease (Lincolnshire, England) each earned Honorable Mention.
Bellevue, under the direction of MCAC Coach of the Year Matt Briggs, posted a 15-3-2 record this past season and finished the year ranked No. 11 in the postseason NAIA Coaches' Poll. The Bruins won both the MCAC Regular Season and Tournament championships this past season on their way to their winningest season since 2006 (15-6-0).
The Bruins defeated Hastings College in the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round and advanced to the final site for the first time since 2009 and for just the second time in school history.
