Men's soccer visits No. 1 Grand View in NAIA Opening Round
The Bellevue University men's soccer team will play at top-ranked Grand View University on Saturday, Nov. 23 in the NAIA Opening Round.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team will play at top-ranked Grand View University on Saturday, Nov. 23 in the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round.
The match will be played at the James W. Cownie Soccer Complex at 5 p.m.
This will be the second meeting of the season between the two schools. The Vikings defeated the Bruins 1-0 on Oct. 30 in Bellevue. The all-time series record is tied at 7-7.
The Bruins qualified for the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship for the third time in program history. Bellevue has a 1-2-0 all-time record in the tournament.
The winner of the Bellevue-Grand View match will advance to the 16-team NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship final site in Montgomery, Ala. on Dec. 2-7 at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex.
Bellevue (9-8-0) upset fourth-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University 1-0 to claim the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament title on Nov. 16, receiving the league's automatic berth.
Grand View defeated Saint Ambrose University 3-2 in the Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament championship match on Nov. 14. The Vikings have an overall mark of 18-2-0 this season and are making their ninth National Tournament appearance.
