OMAHA, Neb. -- Senior James Evison scored a rebound goal nine minutes into the second half to give No. 21-ranked Bellevue University a 1-0 win over No. 14 Columbia College in men's soccer action Friday night at Tranqulity Park.
The Bruins improved to 3-0 on the season, while the Cougars fell to 1-1 overall.
Evison scored following a scramble in the box where a pass by Ryan Cantello was headed by a BU player before deflecting off a Cougar into Evison, who shot the ball just past Columbia goalkeeper Matt Gow in the lower, right portion of the net .
Senior goalkeeper Sebastian Narvaez recorded six saves on the night while collecting his second-straight shutout of the year while playing all 90 minutes in goal.
Columbia held a 7-6 advantage in shots and a 6-3 edge in shots on goal.
The Bruins will be idle until next Friday, Sept. 10, when they battle Fresno Pacific at 7:30 p.m. at Hastings College.
