Bruins third through two rounds of play at Beartooth Invitational
LAUREL, Mont. -- Randy Christiansen was even par to lead the Bellevue University men's golf team to a third place standing in the 10-team field following two rounds of play at the Beartooth Invitational being held at the 6,923-yard, par 72 Laurel Golf Club.
Host Rocky Mountain is comfortably atop the team leaderboard at 24-under, 552 strokes ahead of second place Lewis-Clark State (-9, 567). Bellevue is third at 3-over (579).
Four of the top five individual scores also belong to golfers from Rocky with Jared Smith the clubhouse leader at 9-under (135). He is two strokes ahead of teammate Aidan McDonagh and LC State's Andrea Artusini who are each 6-under (138) through 36 holes.
Randy Christiansen was even on the day and finds himself alone in 11th place. He shot a 1-under 71 and a 1-over 73, respectively. He totaled six birdies on the day – two in a very consistent first round and four more in his second round, including three on the back nine.
Thomas Gatlin fired a 3-over 75 to begin the day before following up with a 3-under second round and is tied for 12th overall. He carded five birdies on the day, including four in the second round which saw him post a 2-under back nine.
Kyle Dale and Dylan Rodgers are tied for 14th overall at 2-over. Dale posted a 2-over 74 in the first round followed by an even par 72 second round. Rodgers carded a 2-under opening round before an even par second round. Dale tallied six birdies on the day and Rodgers tied for a team-high with seven.
Ludwig Klingspor is 5-over and tied for 21st place in the -golfer field. He shot a 3-over first round and shaved a stroke off for a 2-over 74 second round score. Klingspor matched Rodgers with seven birdies of his own to share team-high honors.
Third, and final, round play is scheduled to tee off tomorrow morning.
