Gatlin guides BU to second place at Dickinson Fall Invite
DICKINSON, N.D. -- Thomas Gatlin posted his third-straight 4-under 68 and every Bruin shot under par on the day as the Bellevue University men's golf team finished in second place at the eight-team Dickinson State Fall Invitational, which was played at the 6,734-yard, par-72 Heart River Golf Course.
The Bruins posted their top team score of the tournament, finishing with a 13-under team mark of 275. BU recorded a 25-under-par total for the 54-hole tournament.
Rocky Mountain College captured the team championship with a three-round total of 44-under par after Tuesday's 17-under score of 271.
Gatlin carded his third consecutive 4-under par 68 to finish the tournament at 12-under par, five strokes back from individual champion Kristjan Burkelca of Rocky Mountain. Gatlin's round consisted of five birdies, one bogey, and 12 pars.
Dylan Rodgers finished in third place in the 52-player field at 9-under par after posting a 4-under 68 in the final round. Similar to Gatlin, he also had five birdies, one bogey and 12 pars on the day.
Randy Christiansen finished in seventh place after collecting his second 3-under 69 of the tournament. His round was sparked by four birdies and 13 pars.
Kyle Dale placed 12th at 1-over par after firing his best round of the tournament, a 2-under par 70. He had five birdies in Tuesday's third round.
Ludwig Klingspor rounded at the Bruins' scoring, finishing in 15th place at 5-over par after shooting a 1-under 71. His round was highlighted by four birdies.

The Bruins will travel to Laurel, Mont., on Sept. 29-30 to compete in the Beartooth Invitational being played at the Laurel Golf Course.
