Gatlin makes it back-to-back NSAA awards

Bellevue University junior Thomas Gatlin (Lincoln, Neb.) has been named the North Star Athletic Association Men’s Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

BISMARCK, N.D. -- Bellevue University junior Thomas Gatlin (Lincoln, Neb.) has been named the North Star Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Gatlin was Bellevue's top finisher at this week's Northwest Iowa National Invitational, which featured competition against four ranked teams and several others who received votes in the Coaches' Top 25 Poll.

Gatlin tied for 10th in the 75-golfer field. He began play with a 4-over 75 and followed up with a 3-under 68 on Monday before finishing play on Tuesday with a 2-over 73 for a 54-hole total of 216 (+3), totaling eight birdies at the event.

Bellevue next competes at the NSAA Championships first and second rounds on Sunday-Monday, Sept. 22-23 at CrossRoads Golf Club in Carrington, N.D.
