Zillig nabs NSAA Golfer of the Week honors
For the sixth time in his career, junior Alex Zillig has earned North Star Athletic Association men's golfer of the week honors for his performance in the Bruins' season-opening tournament, the Mid South Classic.
For the sixth time in his career, junior Alex Zillig has earned North Star Athletic Association men's golfer of the week honors for his performance in the Bruins' season-opening tournament, the Mid South Classic.
Zillig helped Bellevue to a second-place finish in the tournament which was played at the par-72, 7,086-yard Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kan. Zillig finished in a tie for eighth place in the 59-player field at 3-over-par (219 strokes). He fired rounds of 74, 72, and 73.
BU placed second in the eight-team race at 16-over par as a team.
The Bruins will travel to Le Mars, Iowa on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 20-21 to compete in the Northwest Iowa Invitational being played at the Willow Creek Golf Course.
