OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Bellevue University men's golf team finished in fifth place at the U.C. Ferguson Classic hosted by Oklahoma City at Lincoln Park Golf Course on Tuesday.
Wayland Baptist University won the 16-team field by six strokes with a 17-under-par team total of 551. Bellevue finished with a two-day total team score of 574 to place in fifth.
Jose Vega led BU with a six-under-par score of 136 to tie for second place overall.
Nicolas Herrera tallied a two-round total of 143 to tie for 17th while Tomas Ovejero posted scores of 69-75--144 to finish in tie for 21st place.
Nicolas Handal tied for 60th place with a total score of 152.
Mike Hannon carded a 153 to tie for 64th overall.
The Bruins will conclude the fall season when they participate in the Kohler Collegiate Classic hosted by Ashford University on Oct. 21-22 in Kohler, Wis. at Whistling Straits Golf Course.
