Men's golf in third place at SCU Invite
First Round Results
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- The Bellevue University men's golf team is in third place after the first day of competition at the Southwestern Christian University Fall Invitational. The tournament marked the first event for the Bruins in their first year of competition.
As a team, the Bruins are at 4-over par (284), trailing first place Oklahoma Baptist University, which is currently 1-under par (279) and Central Baptist University, which is 2-over par (282). There are 15 teams entered in the tournament.
The Bruins were led by Javier Franco, who shot a two-under par round of 68. Franco is currently tied for third place in the individual standings.
Jeff Shermoen recorded a one-over par round of 71 and is tied for 10th individually. Tanner Alder finished two-over at 72. Brady Vancura is three-over par (73) and Warren Martin is nine-over (79).
The tournament, which is being held at the Lake Hefner Golf Course will conclude on Wednesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
