Kvashin thriving while playing professionally with Sentinels
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Former Bellevue University esports athlete Mark Kvashin (Westfield, Ind.) signed with Sentinels Marvel Rivals team on March 3 after the collegiate winter season wrapped up.
Kvashin, whose game ID is "Karova", is the first former Bruin esports athlete to sign professionally. Sentinels is an esports organization based out of Los Angeles that fields teams in Valorant, Apex Legends, Marvel Rivals, Halo, and StarCraft. Kvashin's role with Sentinels is as a strategist, a support role that focuses on healing and buffing teammates. He is a starter on Sentinels Marvel Rivals team, and has played in vital role in the team's recent successes.
Since Kvashin joined Sentinels, the team has won a pair of Rivals Fight Night (#1, #8) Tournaments (C-Tier) as well as the Tenax Rebirth Circuit in April and the A-Tier Ignite 2025 Stage 1L Americas last month. The team has also picked up a pair of second place finishes in Rivals Fight Night (#2, #9) and finished third in both Marvel Rivals Invitational 2025: North American (C-Tier) and The shroud Gauntlet (B-Tier). Their top finish since adding Kvashin came back in April when they won the A-Tier of Marvel Rivals Championship Season 1: Eternal Night Falls – North America PC.
The Bruin Overwatch 2 team went 25-10 during the 2024-25 season, finishing National Runners-Up in the PlayFly Esports League and reaching the final eight of both the NACE Super Conference and Collegiate Homecoming Tournaments.
