Claerhout collects Frontier Conference Player of the Week Honors
HELENA, Mont. -- Bellevue University senior Carter Claerhout (Red Deer, Alberta) has been named the Frontier Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The first baseman hit .875 with a 2.514 OPS in two games last week. Four of his seven hits going for extra-bases in a double-header sweep of Briar Cliff last Wednesday. He belted his team-leading third home run in the opener as he went 3-3 with a double, home run, two RBI, two runs scored, and drew an intentional walk. He followed that performance up by going 4-5 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored in the nightcap.
Claerhout leads the team in virtually every offensive category on the season, hitting .515 with a 1.477 OPS, four doubles, three home runs, and eight RBI.
The Bruins (7-2) travel to Briar Cliff University tomorrow for a 1 p.m. contest before taking on Central Methodist University this weekend in a four-game series.
